Nightingale reopens showroom after refurbishment

Ethical jewellery brand Nightingale has announced the reopening of its showroom after it underwent a £20,000 refurbishment.

Founded by husband and wife Stephen and Diane Nightingale in 2016, the duo originally set up shop in York’s Barleycorn Yard with the help of Ryan Atkins from direct-to-consumer specialists The Embarking Group, who is currently CEO for the brand.

The showroom acts as a base where customers can meet face-to-face with Nightingale’s team of experts. Whilst the brand does offer a collection of “ready-made” rings, its most popular offering is reportedly its bespoke jewellery design service.

Amongst its many offerings, Nightingale “pioneers” lab-grown diamonds, ethically mined diamonds and Fairtrade gold by only working with ethical suppliers, aiming to stem the flow of conflict diamonds.

Atkins said: “When you buy from us, you join us in our mission to support better working conditions, better environmental practices and more transparent supply chains.

“Whilst we’re not claiming to be putting an end to the harm caused by the diamond mining industry, we do want to educate and encourage buyers on how they can make a more ethically informed purchase when it comes to fine jewellery.”
