Mother of Pearl and Monica Vinader unveil collaboration

Monica Vinader and sustainable luxury fashion jeweller, Mother of Pearl, have collaborated on a new 12-piece sustainable jewellery collection.

The collection comprises three earrings, two rings, three pendants, two bracelets and two necklaces made in 100% recycled gold vermeil satin finish.

All pieces can be layered or stacked together, and they “embrace organic shapes and earthy tactility”, with each piece drawing on nature’s irregularities to “celebrate what makes us unique”.

Packaged in 100% recyclable and FSG-certified packaging, the collection joins Monica Vinader’s suite of carbon neutral pieces, and it is supported by the brand’s lifetime repair service.

Additionally, Monica Vinader and Mother of Pearl have partnered with Choose Earth to directly support and resource indigenous communities in their fight for environmental, human rights and social justice.

Amy Powney, creative director at Mother of Pearl, said: “Monica’s passion and drive to build her brand into something that considers its impact and takes our future seriously is inspiring. It echoes the work we have been doing at Mother of Pearl so it felt very natural to come together.

“We wanted to create something that celebrates nature’s own unique design process. Every pearl and every diamond is different. We didn’t want to try and refine these into one classic form of perfection.”

She added: “I was also inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, where something broken can be made into something new and better than the original. This felt fitting as it echoed Monica’s lifetime repair offering. I like the idea of celebrating the evolving uniqueness of an object as a pattern of its life.
