Dimexon joins the Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030

Dimexon has joined as a member of the Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030, a global initiative founded by luxury groups Kering and Cartier.

The Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030 was launched in October last year, and its mission is to unite companies in the industry to work collaboratively towards ethical and sustainable goals.

Dimexon said that by joining the initiative, it is strengthening its commitment to sustainable luxury, following its recent recertification with the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and the release of its first publicly available ESG report in July.

Dimexon is one of nine new members announced today (14 September), alongside A. Lange and Söhne, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-Lecoultre, Panerai and Piaget, as well as Dimexon, Mattioli, Pandora and Rubel and Ménasché.

These new members are coming in addition to Cartier, Kering (Boucheron, Gucci Watches, Pomellato, Dodo, Qeelin), Chanel Horlogerie Joaillerie, Montblanc, Rosy Blue and Swarovski.

The initiative is open to all Watch and Jewellery players with a national or international footprint committed to sustainability goals in three areas: building climate resilience, preserving resources, and fostering inclusiveness.

Since its launch, membership has risen with new members, representing brands from different market segments.

Building on existing initiatives and organisations in the industry, such as science-based targets (SBT), it also includes newer focus areas such as science-based climate targets, biodiversity protection and materials and business model innovation, with the intent of encouraging and enabling industry transformation.

Rajiv Mehta, director of Dimexon, said: “We are proud to now be a member of the Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030, and to be joining other leaders in the luxury industry. Our purpose of inspiring sustainable luxury is embedded into our business practices and our priorities, so it felt natural for us to be part of this initiative and to help inspire change.”

Iris Van der Veken, executive director and secretary general of the initiative, added: “It is inspiring to see the unanimous response from CEOs and key stakeholders to drive positive change and accelerate collective action. Welcoming this illustrious group of brands underscores the importance of collaborative initiatives in our industry.”
