Facet launches first jewellery collection with sustainable rubies

Facet has launched its first classic jewellery collection, ‘Fire Under Ice’, which comprises 27 pieces, made up of solitaire rings, pendants and earrings, with diamonds and Greenland rubies as the centre stones of these pieces.

The company has formed an alliance with Tracemark and Greenland Ruby, and said the collection is the “most sustainable classic jewellery in the world with the oldest and most sustainable rubies to date”.

Pieces in the collection are traceable and come with a certificate of provenance, and the collection includes recycled traceable gold with a CoC certificate, certified by the RJC.

Customers can scan their QR code and obtain fully audited information about every step in their jewels and components’ journey, from extraction to possession.

Tracemark is a worldwide standard of traceability in jewellery that provides certified traceability and auditing of each piece of jewellery to “guarantee that all human rights have been respected” along the jewellery supply chain.

Meanwhile, Greenland Ruby is the only coloured stone mining company who is a member of the RJC. It is in charge of discovering and extracting gemmological resources within this new site.

José Miguel Serret, Facet chief executive, said: “Once again, Facet takes a step forward towards a sustainable and responsible industry with a new alliance with Tracemark and Greenland Ruby. This collaboration symbolises our commitment to changing the industry towards one that is more transparent, responsible and innovative.”
